Two newbuilding programs with Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries Co. Ltd, will gradually, during the course of 2012, bring our combined containership fleet to 363,000 TEU total capacity, assuming no further acquisitions or dispositions.

Danaos operates a comprehensive maintenance program providing for regular vessel monitoring. Secondhand vessels are systematically subjected to rigorous inspection prior to acquisition.

The average age (weighted by TEU capacity) of the Danaos containership fleet is now approximately 6.7 years, which will come down to 6.1 when all contracted vessels are delivered by 2012.
